I am a generalist so I have helped people with a great variety of issues. I work with individuals, couples, families and groups, from ages 10 to 90+, from all walks of life. I feel it is important to recognize and work with a client’s strengths to help him/her reach his/her desired goals. I have a warm and relational style, but I can help clients confront issues and learn how to take charge of their lives. I am also skilled in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) therapy, used especially to help resolve trauma and PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) issues.
Some of my areas of specialty include:
I attended Valparaiso University for my undergraduate work and then earned two degrees from Indiana University South Bend in counseling and public administration. I have worked both in the public and private sectors, in South Bend and the greater Michiana area, as a counselor and social worker. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Mental Health Clinician (LMHC), and a National Certified Counselor (NCC).
Though our children are all grown now, my husband and I enjoy visiting them and our grandchildren. I love sports, both watching and participating. Although I don’t think my softball game is quite what it was a few years ago.
